Herring Creek Retreat for Writers
April 4 – 6, 2014
Join us on Herring Creek, in Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay Country. Where deer leap on the front lawn, and gulls swoop through the sky. Stirred by the soft salt breeze, trees cast quivering shadows and moonbeams dance on the waves.
Just what I needed: nourishment, and a sense of community with other creative spirits plus Elizabeth’s compassionate guidance.
- Kate Appel
Nature’s exhilaration matches the stirrings of your imagination in this retreat for writers. It combines the thrill of a well-taught writing workshop, the inspiration of a spectacular landscape, the camaraderie of a writing support group and the guidance of a seasoned teacher – giving you a creative writing retreat you’ll never forget.
Led by Center Founder & Director Elizabeth Ayres, the weekend includes:
- 5 writing workshops with in-class writing exercises & instruction;
- optional assignments with out-of-class writing prompts;
- discussion of issues affecting your writing practice;
- 2 festive meals shared with Elizabeth & fellow writers.
Whether you’re a beginning writer or more experienced, you’ll return home from Imago House renewed. You’ll be eager to face the blank page with a new-found repertoire of writing techniques and writing skills for creating new work or invigorating ongoing projects.
