Imago House is
located on Herring Creek in Tall Timbers, Maryland -- just off the
Potomac River, close to where the river spills into the
Chesapeake Bay.
The moon rises in your lap. Deer graze on the front lawn, while
gulls swoop
through the sky. Stirred by the soft salt breeze, trees cast their
quivering
shadows. Such beauty will comfort and quiet your spirit.
Far away from
the world's incessant demands, you'll be
able to listen to the deepest promptings of your imagination and focus
on that creative writing project that's been calling to you from your
desk drawer.

|
Even
in winter, your writer's study is surrounded by maj-
esty and peace, with an inspir-
ing view of Herring Creek.
|
The Imago House Guest Suite is your
writer's home-away-from-
home. A private
bedroom (queen bed), private bath and private study with waterfront
view and wifi are ready for you.
In winter, you'll
enjoy a
wood-burning fireplace and glassed-in sun porch. Watch the bald
eagles fly overhead and write your heart out! In warmer weather,
the doors fling open to let in the soothing sounds of whispering pines
and rustling oaks.
The perfect
accompaniment to a flying pen or keyboard.
Meals are provided -- no need to
interrupt your concentration on creative writing for such chores.
When you need a break, you can take long walks on quiet country
roads. Rent a bike or kayak. Park yourself on the pier or
beach.
You can also explore the county's
many
historic sites: St. Mary's City,
where costumed interpreters take you into the 17th century; on nearby
Solomon's Island, the Calvert Marina
Museum will introduce you to Maryland's first inhabitants (giant
whales and megatooth sharks!) and to the vanishing lifestyle of the
waterman, who have harvested Nature's bounty from the Chesapeake for
centuries. You can even take in a concert or
lecture at nearby St. Mary's College.

If you get stuck or need expert
guidance with your story, poem, essay,
screenplay or general direction -- Elizabeth is available during meals
for informal discussions. One-on-one
consultations are available at $87/hour, which is 30% off Elizabeth's
regular
hourly rate.
